Kenzo
Lamoureux

Based on France’s Charente-Maritime coast, Kenzo Lamoureux grew up surfing the estuary waves with his dad and friends. He’s been competing extensively both nationally and internationally, building his surfing around consistency, solid turns, and time in the water. At home on the Wild Coast, Kenzo values surf sessions shared with friends and family above anything else.

"This sport immediately intrigued me, attracted me, almost called to me."

Can you tell us a bit more about your passion for surfing?

I discovered surfing at the age of 7, with my father and his friends, on the waves of Charente-Maritime. From my very first sessions, this sport immediately intrigued me, attracted me, almost called to me. Since then, the ocean has become my second home, my refuge, the place where I truly feel myself.

When I was in middle school, my friends and I would meet up after class to go train with the surf club. Little by little, I progressed, started competing, and that led me to join the Pôle Espoir Surf Nouvelle-Aquitaine in high school (a type of youth surf academy). That period helped me grow and taught me a lot.

Surfing has been with me since I was a child. It helps me let go, breathe, and distance myself from everyday pressures. Without surfing, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

You just won the lottery, what would you do first?

I give half to my family, then I go on a surfing trip with all my friends.

Favorite quote or words to live by?

Everything is bueno!

“ Without surfing, I wouldn't be the person I am today. "

What's the most amazing thing you've experienced?

That's a very difficult question! Lots of things come to mind, but right now, for me, it's my three years of high school in the youth academy. There were ups and downs, but I met lots of people, had lots of fun, and trained hard with my friends to push each other to improve. I learned a lot from that experience.

What do you do with your day when there is no waves?

As a student, when there are no waves, I work, see friends, play video games, and rest up for the next session.
