Nelson Pinto is a respected Gaucho freesurfer in his homeland, as well as an excellent producer, shaper and, more recently, kitesurfer. Nelson's life is based on his passion and desire for freedom, and he has made his own way off the beaten track.

Quiet and dedicated by nature, he has a degree in advertising and knows how to convey what he has learned through his productions. The surf industry would probably be a lot duller without guys like him.

Can you tell us a bit more about your passion for surfing?

I was born and raised inland very far from the coast. Luckily, my family has a house on the beach so I could enjoy the summer holidays surfing. I always had a connection with the ocean which helped me to keep my dreams alive to become a professional surfer/filmmaker.

You just won the lottery, what would you do first?

Take all my best friends on an epic six-month boat trip to surf perfect waves and have a good time.

What’s the most amazing thing you’ve experienced?

That’s a hard one! I would say the trip that I made to the very bottom of South America, camping and trying to surf waves that nobody surfed before. I had to walk and carry a very heavy backpack with all the camping gear, food, cameras, one surfboard and a thick wetsuit, having to deal with a crazy wild weather that hits this special part of the globe.
