Born in Bilbao in the Basque Country, Ariane has built her life around her passion. She discovered surfing when she was only 5 years old and started competing at 8. Feeling deeply connected to the ocean, she hasn’t stopped since and thrives in learning how to read and understand each wave better.
A junior World and European medalist as well as multiple times Spanish national champion, she now participates in the WSL circuit. She hopes to eventually make it to the Olympic Games and to tackle some of the world’s most iconic spots.

Can you tell us more about your passion for surfing?
I have loved surfing ever since I tried it for the first time. I feel a special connection with the ocean. Also, surfing is a challenging sport that pushes me to be a better person and a better surfer.
You just won the lottery, what would you do first?
I probably would go on a big trip around the world.

Pantín, Galicia.


What’s is the most incredible thing that you have lived?
To be able to travel to new places, meet amazing people, and learn about others and their cultures.
What are you doing during a day without waves?
I like to go to the mountains, or simply enjoy some time with family and friends at home.
